Mini D-fuse dance Troupe qualify for one of the biggest dance championships in Britain!
Maidstone based under 10s Dance Troupe, Mini D-fuse start the competition season by smashing their way to a first place victory at the SOAR Street Dance Championships for the South East. Teams from all over the South East competed yesterday (Sunday 8th October) at the White Oak Leisure Centre in Swanley, to win a chance to compete at the SOAR British Championships next March, 2018.
The troupe fought off fierce competition from 3 other teams in their category to bring home the team trophy. Sponsored by Maidstone based photocopier and print solutions provider Digital Image Solutions (DIS) the award winning troupe also had members win a 1st, 4th and 5th place in the duo categories.
Mini D-Fuse teacher Lauren Bowden commented “As their teacher, myself and Michelle Smyth (Principle of Dance Dynamics Dance School) could not be prouder of the hard work and dedication these young kids show. After being up against 3 other fantastic teams, to bring home the 1st place trophy is an achievement myself, the children and all of
will always remember! We cannot wait to see our Mini D-fuse perform at the British Championships in March and so glad we are putting Maidstone on the map for street dance!”
The troupe was formed in September 2016 by the school Principle, Michelle Smyth and Teacher Lauren Bowden.
Just three months after forming, the troupe entered their first competition, Medway Street Champs held in Sittingbourne where the Mini’s brought home a 2nd place win.
Since then the team have entered various competitions around Kent including XM Events, Breathe Street and Summer Slam and each competition has resulted in the Mini’s winning 1st place positions as a troupe and in individual categories however yesterdays success will see them perform at one of the biggest dance competitions Britain has to offer which draws teams from all over the UK to compete.
After a long sheet of successes, the team came back to a new season with not only the competition win but also gained sponsorship from print management supplier Digital Image Solutions (DIS).
Dance Dynamics was formed in 2008 and has three branches across Maidstone, the school offers a variety of classes from Ballet and Musical Theatre to Street dance, Commercial Jazz and Cheerpom classes and fitness class for those who just want to get fit dancing. he school caters for all ages and have weekend and weekday classes available from as young as three years old.
